Books I Bought for $1
Today we had a book re-sale at work. People donated there old books and resold them for $1 each. Yes —– ONE DOLLAR. I love a deal and this is a deal. There was Stephen King, Nora Roberts, Danielle Steel and lots of romance novellas. It was awesome. Here is what I bought:
1. DANCE OF THE GODS, Nora Roberts, book two of the circle trilogy. I’ve read the first book and liked it. Although I don’t like her dialogue. It seems to run together and I get confused when six people are talking. This is a story of six, the sorcerer, the witch, the warrior, the scholar, a shape shifter and a moody vampire. How can you go wrong?
2. & 3. CIRCUS OF THE DAMNED and BURNT OFFERINGS, both by Laurell K Hamilton. I am trying to read these again. I read the first one GUILTY PLEASURES. It was ok. I am mostly interested because the story is set in St Louis (my home town). Laurell stil lives here and has writen a ton of books in this series. I want to love them, I want to support her. I just have a hard time. Maybe it will grow on me. Oh, this is another vampire series.
4. MIDNIGHT DESIRE, Emma Holly, this book has two short stories. Paranormal romance, love it!
5. BEYOND THE DARK, Angela Knight, Emma Holly, Lora Leigh, Diane Whiteside. This book has four short paranormal romance stories. These are great to read in one night.
6.-10. DARK LOVER, LOVER ETERNAL, LOVER AWAKENED, LOVER REVELED, LOVER UNBOUND. J.R. Ward. This is an entire series. I haven’t read her work but I am excited. Paranormal romance with vamps and lust.
Can you see a theme? I just love paranormal books. I don’t like reading about regular life, it bores me. Maybe it’s because my family and friends are so crazy! I like to read things that can’t be true, but just maybe they are??? It’s a great escape from my very real life.
I like to write paranormal too. Although my work doesn’t have vamps or wolves, there is a very real God vs Devil struggle. I think the Bible is the original paranormal book around (no disrespect intended). God puts the super in my natural. With him anything is possible, even vamps…right?

Hey girl, The JR Ward series is great. Almost as good as Kim Harrison. ( Love Ivy & Rachel ) Of course, KH rocks. I also read the LA Banks series with Damali and Carlos. Not too hooked on Laurell Hamilton, cept for the Merideth series. ( bout fairies and fey ) That one is pretty good. Reading her Divine Misdemeanors right now. Stuck on vampire books tho. They are my fave. Read all the Twilight books, Movies are not very good tho. You could get yours published so I can have a new subject to read.

All these books are wonderful. The J.R. Ward is my favorite from the above list.
Even though, I have to say I’m a Laurell K. Hamilton fan, especially her earlier books, you can grow to love her characters until around Narcissus in Chains then the books really strain your imagination and sensibilities. All in all great finds.

I read BEYOND THE DARK this weekend. I was a bit suprised. But they were very good.
